Our Goal

The goal of the Senior Citizen’s Ministry is to Strengthen, Encourage, Empower, and Nurture the senior citizens of Temple Baptist Church and the community with TLC (Tender Loving Care) through sharing the love of the Lord Jesus Christ and his gospel. To provide Christ centered Christian fellowship with all our sisters and brothers in Christ. It is a spiritually enlightenment group for those persons in their “golden” years to come together in worship and fellowship. As a group we share Gods word by life style, testimony, and support of local and foreign missions.

The ministry delves into spiritual enrichment by sharing God’s word in the ministry. Also addresses the physical and mental health of older adults as well as their safety and other measures of well-being. To glorify God in all that is done, and always keep Him first in the centre of its activities. That we might exemplify the fruit of the Spirit ” But the fruit of the Spirit is love, peace, patient, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Gal 5:22-23.

Description of the Ministry

The Seniors Ministry is a station-stop for the young at heart. Everyone is welcome here. We are an open ministry-open to our entire membership (male & female). We have fun filled activities and our fellowship is filled with prayer and praise, and always a good meal.

The teaching is broad based in nature to the needs of the Christian life style and operation through topical and textual teaching that is bible based.

Widows Mite Ministry 1 Timothy 5:3-16

Meeting the needs of or widowed membership through ministry and prayer with our classes and functions.

Visitation

Shut-In, Hospital, and nursing home visitation is a vital ministry among our membership. Many that are part of this ministry are freely part of the work of the Lord.

Events

This is a changing world and unless we have Christ centered fellowship with others we do not share the word of God as we are commanded. Our events are simple but enjoyable. Visitors are always welcome.
